ABOUT THE ARTIST: Growing up within the cultural melting pot of Springvale and developing his craft in the back alleys of Melbourne, Mike Eleven has adapted his traditional upbringing to the western lifestyle.

Eleven stumbled into the art world late in life through graffiti. After a few years of running around in the dead of night scrawling his name obsessively on any surface that was willing, his direction began to shift in favour of more refined art practices. Backed by a need to prove to his unconvinced parents that a career in ‘messing around’ was a good idea, he continued to break both the rules and cultural stereotypes.
